Course Description

This bundle will provide you and up to 9 additional staff members access to all of our continuing education courses and guarantees a minimum of sixteen (16) credit hours of material covering Tax Law Changes, Tax Law Updates, & General Tax Topics. This plan meets the continuing education requirements for Enrolled Agents and tax preparers participating in the Annual Filing Season Program - AFSP.

  • This plan does NOT include the AFTR course and test to satisfy the requirements to obtain the AFSP - Record of Completion. See the AFTR - Annual Federal Tax Refresher Course if you are seeking to participate in the IRS , Annual Filing Season Program or AFSP.
  • Exempt Preparers who do not need the AFTR course but need CE to participate in the Annual Filing Season Program should select this option.

  • General Tax Law

    The general tax law category might seem like an intimidating category label, but this category simply focuses on general tax topics. Federal Direct training strives to covers Individual tax topics of interest and relevance to the general tax preparer. If you preparer traditional individual tax clients, this category will cover standards such as income, expenses, deductions, credits, and dependents, as well as some higher level topics like self-employment, and depreciation.

  • Tax Law Updates

    The tax law updates category is the area that covers annual updates to the tax code and how it will affect the preparation of your clients' returns. The IRS changes and updates the tax code every year. These changes can come in the form of inflationary changes, new credits credit and deductions as well as expiring ones, and even sometimes broad sweeping changes. Make sure you are in the know and ready for the current tax season by keeping up with you Tax Law Updates!

  • Ethics

    Ethics has always been the category of "grey". Not everything in the tax preparation arena is black and white. Many times your clients present you with scenarios that require you to look at an analyze through a prism of Ethics. This category covers not only circular 230 and tax preparer requirements and penalties, but it also has scenario related topics to help you get a basis for identifying incomplete, inconsistent, and inaccurate return information and how to deal with those clients.

  • Automatic IRS Reporting

    When you take you continuing education courses you will receive a certificate indicating your completion of the topic, and we will automatically report your credits to the IRS. A PTIN (Preparers Tax Identification Number) is required for IRS reporting & tracking.
